Friendship is not about people who act true to your face. It’s about people who remain true behind your back.- Simple Reminders
Acceptance is key to creating a world that’s free of social isolation. We want to spread awareness about the societal issues such that affect students daily in hopes to make change happen. It is our job as changemakers to empower those who have been made to feel like they don’t belong, we want to see a world where everyone is accepted.
How it Works
We believe everyone should be accepted for who they are. Our class identified three areas that we feel people tend to isolate themselves in our school. The first is Fake Friends, when people support you to your face, but behind your back put you down. Secondly, LGBTQ2+ – using gender terms as put-downs, and making people feel they can’t be themselves. Lastly, Mental Health – using mental health terms to describe situations in a negative way. Our solution is to make a movement in our school to make people feel they belong in our community.
