Be Your Best You

Increasing Self Confidence Through Appearance

Be Your Best You

“Just be yourself. Let people see the real, imperfect, flawed, quirky, weird, beautiful, magical person that you are.” ~ Mandy Hale, Author

Our solution to social isolation is to create free workshops/events that offer haircuts, manicures, facials and waxing. This helps individuals realize their worth by increasing their self-confidence through their appearance. If you look good, you feel good.

How it Works

We believe that all people are unique and bring their own special voice to the world. Unfortunately, not all people see themselves that way. Our goal is to help students and members of the community feel less isolated by helping to care for their health and well-being. We are offering services, being learned here at Georgian Bay Secondary School, aimed at increasing a sense of personal confidence. We would like to spread the word by visiting elementary schools in the community, and some local organizations to help individuals be the best of who they are.

Recommended Materials & Resources

This program was offered by the cosmetology class at Georgian Bay District Secondary School. They were able to offer haircuts, manicures and facials. In addition to trained students, the following supplies are required:

  • Hair cutting Scissors
  • Nail Polish
  • Hand Cream
  • Manicure Sets
  • Hair Clippers
  • Facial Supplies
  • Towels

To advertise the event posters and social media posts were created.  Business cards were also created and purchased from Vista print that gave the details of the event(s) and a contact number for more information.

If this project were to be taken on by another group, they would need supplies such as these in order to bring this project to completion.
